What you've always wanted...
Delicious, Healthy, Fresh, Farm-Raised Beef
We started raising our own Black Angus cattle in 2017. We wanted to raise a healthy alternative to the beef that is mass produced on feed lots and primarily sold in grocery stores. We believed at the time that there was a market for healthy, farm-raised beef and we wanted to be a part of it.
Today's logistics, however, make it difficult for a small cattle farmer our size to exist. The increased per-pound price of the calves themselves plus the increased processing fees, combined with the increased cost of the grain for finishing simply made it cost prohibitive for farmers with fewer than fifty head. We could have saved money by eliminating the grain-finishing but, without that grain, we found that beef is tougher and not as flavorful--not what you want to cook or eat! We weren't going to sacrifice flavor and taste and so we stopped raising our own beef.
Today we purchase black Angus beef from several different farms--no one farm has been able to supply us with enough beef to meet our customers' needs. Tapping several farms gives us the opportunity to purchase the highest quality at the lowest prices and pass those savings on to our customers. Like the cattle we raised, these black Angus are antibiotic free, hormone free, grass fed and finished off with grain to marbleize and tenderize every single mouth-watering bite.
The Farm Store at Bees & Trees sells a number of cuts including; Filets, bone-in rib-eyes, flank, brisket, kabob, tri-tip, London broil, chuck roast, NY strip, ground beef.
